Welcome aboard!

~~~~~~~~~
Silver Heels is an American cruising sailboat, a Pearson 424 ketch upgraded and skippered by Captain Tor Pinney.
The purpose of this web site is to introduce you to this good old boat, and to share some of our travels and adventures, which have only just begun. After a challenging, educational and immensely gratifying 3-year refit in a magical boat yard on the St. John's River (northeast Florida), Silver Heels and I set sail in search of fun, adventure, nature, exploration, music, presence, growth, peace, love & joyfulness.
The links to the left tell more about us. In particular, the Logblog  provides occasional updates of our travels.
Dedication
This web site is dedicated to the memory of
Paul Alexander
, whom I knew as the  yard manager at Green Cove Springs Marina. His open-handed generosity, ever-ready helpfulness, and genuine friendship were a blessing to everyone who knew him,  very much including Silver Heels and me during our long refit in his boat yard.
Rest in peace, my friend.
Verse from "Christian Island" ~ by Gordon Lightfoot:
Tall and strong she dips and reels
I call her Silver Heels
And she tells me how she feels
She’s a good old boat and she’ll stay afloat
Through the toughest gale and keep smilin'
But for one more day she would like to stay
In the lee of Christian Island
